Rumors had been flourishing for several days regarding the sale ofAlpha Tauri by the parent company of Red Bull. The German bi-monthly Auto Motor und Sport (AMuS) revealed on February 26 that the Austrian team and its new management were asking themselves several questions about the Italian garage of Formula 1. The newspaper specifies that the performance of the Team and its market value would not justify the amounts incurred by the Red Bull structure.
The idea was as follows: to move the team from Faenza (Italy) to England, thus bringing together the big and little sister in the infrastructure of Milton Keynes to reduce costs. In the event of refusal, the reigning world champions could be inclined to sell Franz Tost's team.

A rumor that the latter, team principal of Scuderia AlphaTauri, denies: “ I had good discussions with Oliver Mintzlaff, who confirmed to me that the shareholders will not sell AlphaTauri, and that RedBull will continue to support the team in the future. These rumors are unfounded, and the team must remain focused on the start of the season to perform at a better level than last year. »
After a disappointing 2022 financial year for the Italian garage, Yuki tsunoda and his new teammate Nyck de Vries are on a mission to get closer to the middle of the grid and fight for better positions. With the rumors cleared, the structure can focus its attention on the inaugural Grand Prix of the 2023 season in Bahrain, this weekend (March 3 – 5).
