Norbert Haug: “Closing the gap”

Fifth and sixth in Bahrain, Mercedes appeared a little behind Ferrari, Red Bull, even McLaren. But Norbert Haug seems fully satisfied with the collaboration between Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg, who could quickly return to the forefront with the next planned developments.

“The team did a great job in Bahrain but we accept the fact that we are not competitive enough and that we have to work to reduce the gap to the leading cars, declares the head of competition at Mercedes. The star firm is not panicking and is working discreetly, aware that there is still a lot of work to do to enable its drivers to climb to the top of the podium. But the well-known strength of the Haug-duoSchumacher, combined with the talent of Nico Rosberg, could well bring Mercedes back to the top more quickly than expected.
