His new status as favorite doesn't seem to scare him. Expected to make a big impact this weekend, Lando Norris responded present, and in what a way! With a McLaren Still performing as well as ever – perhaps even more so than in 2024 – the Briton secured the victory he was promised in Australia, given the satisfactory winter tests. In qualifying, the Bristol native snatched pole position from his teammate, Oscar piastri, by eight hundredths of a second, spoiling the party in the Albert Park slumps along the way.

But Lando Norris wasn't there to dwell on details: the Englishman led the race almost from start to finish, whether on a wet or drying track. He did, however, have a real scare on lap 44, when the rain began to fall in Melbourne, going wide into the gravel. Unlike his teammate

Hamilton was stuck behind Albon for a long time, while his Mercedes replacement got rid of him quite easily! Well, the gravel of the Southern Hemisphere still doesn't mix well with Aston Martin since Stroll in Brazil... now Fernand in Australia!
