Norris mixed after his first Grand Prix

Lando Norris had started its first weekend in F1 on the right foot. The new recruit of McLaren had good hopes of points by starting from 8th place while his teammate Carlos Sainz Jr had to start around ten positions further, but the 2017 champion of F3 was heckled in the peloton, notably losing time behind Antonio Giovinazzi (Alfa Romeo).

“I had a pretty good car, confirmed Lando Norris. She wasn't perfect, but she had the pace to aim for the Top 10. I missed it due to a few mistakes. This is why I am not as satisfied as I was after qualifying. I was quite nervous going into my first race, but I'm relieved to have been able to finish it. »

“I have mixed feelings after this first race, added the McLaren driver. I was able to gain plenty of experience this weekend, but at the same time I am disappointed by my performances. There is still potential to be acquired, which is why I cannot be happy at the moment. »

Carlos Sainz Jr was less successful in his first race with McLaren since the Spaniard retired after around ten laps following the breakage of his MGU-K.
