This Saturday, everything led us to believe that Pierre Gasly was going to have a good day. It all started well in the Montreal rain with the 2e time of EL3 for the Normand. Enough to predict good qualifications. Nay!

Despite his good performance during the last free practice session, Pierre Gasly was going to miss the mark in qualifying. Trapped by a strategy that didn't pay off at the end of Q1 and technical problems, the driver Alpha Tauri immediately took the door with the 16e time. Small consolation prize for the Frenchman who will start 15e after the engine penalty Charles Leclerc.

« We had a brake problem, said Pierre Gasly at the microphone of Canal +. As I stopped to start again, one of the front brakes went completely out. It didn't help us. Subsequently, we decided to change the tires. I think it was not the right option. It also didn't work for the Aston Martin who tried it too. I am very disappointed. This (SATURDAY) morning, we had done the 2e time in the rain. Everything looked good and we completely missed these qualifications."

Placed at the back of the peloton, which is not ideal for a start, Pierre Gasly has only one objective in mind: to quickly gain positions. “ We'll have to go back but first we'll sit down to look at the strategies. » Hoping to find the right one in the absence of experiencing a complicated Canadian Grand Prix.
