Grimace Soup for Esteban Ocon this Saturday in Miami. At the end of an eventful sprint race, punctuated by rain, pit stops and a finish under Safety Car, the team's driver Haas took only 16th place, while his teammate Oliver Bearman finished 8th and thus took the last point awarded.
The Frenchman was therefore never able to make any impact during the 18 laps of the race, despite the numerous opportunities. Particularly between the retirements of Fernando Alonso – causing the end of the race under safety car conditions – and Carlos Sainz, without forgetting the penalty of Max Verstappen applied under the checkered flag.
The former resident ofAlpine admitted that he had been struggling with his car in recent weeks and didn't hide his disappointment in the heat of the moment. Above all, he doesn't expect much better this Saturday evening in qualifying (starting at 22:15 p.m. French time), nor in the race this Sunday (start at 22 p.m. French time).
Ocon: "We have a big problem with the car"
"It's disappointing. We've been looking back all race. We had a big problem with the car; it was impossible to brake, impossible to have a good front end. These things have been going on for quite some time.", said Esteban Ocon upon arrival at the Canal+ microphone.
"In this kind of race, there's nothing we can do because the tire degradation is on the front axle. But it's good for the team to score a point. So congratulations to Oliver. For us, it could be a complicated weekend.", the French pilot added.

Finally, still on the tricolor side, Pierre Gasly (Alpine) and Isack Hadjar (Racing Bulls) didn't fare much better. Although they didn't finish far outside the points zone, they finished 11th and 13th respectively.
