Ocon felt like he was doing “2 days of testing in one”

After the raw pleasure of the reunion on the field on Tuesday, Esteban Ocon was able to accelerate the pace of his preparations with a view to his return as a starter with Renault in 2020 this Wednesday in Abu Dhabi.

Author of the 6th mark of a second day of Pirelli testing dominated by George Russell, the Norman completed 128 laps and set about comparing the 2020 Italian tires with those of 2019 while continuing to get his bearings in his new environment.  

« It was a very productive day, I feel like I completed two days of testing in one, confided Ocon on Wednesday evening. We discussed a lot of relevant topics and issues. We were able to resolve several major, essential details. I was able to continue my acclimatization and feel much more comfortable. I know where I have to work and what to expect from now on. 

We must now think about how to improve. We are turning the page on this 2019 season in style. I wish the whole team to recharge their batteries during the winter because the campaign was long but I can't wait to see them again next year ». 

Over two days, Ocon completed some 205 rotations of the Yas Marina circuit. The next time the Frenchman gets behind the wheel of a Formula 1, it will be as part of the traditional winter testing in Barcelona which begins in just 76 days.
