Ocon focuses on qualifications

After completing his first two Grands Prix, Esteban Ocon will continue his learning by discovering most of the circuits remaining on the calendar of the F1. The Frenchman hopes in particular to improve in qualifying in order to aim for better results at the finish.

“We have shown that we can aim for Q2 when everything is working normally. Pascal proved that it was possible. This will be my next personal goal, declared Esteban Ocon who remembers his electrical problems which penalized him in Monza (Italy). We create opportunities in the race by starting higher on the grid and we can even hope for another point. This would currently be a dream that would come true among the long list that I wish to achieve. »

“I am enjoying and learning every moment and there is still much more to come, added the rookie. It’s a big challenge to arrive in F1 in the middle of the season. There is so much to learn without having time to stop and think. We must constantly move forward. It's a big test, but it works for me. I had good and bad things in the first two races, but I was able to rally. Six of the remaining seven circuits will be new to me and we have important goals for the team to achieve. »

Esteban Ocon took 16th and 18th place at Spa (Belgium) and Monza while Pascal Wehrlein retired each time. The two Manor drivers will discover the Marina Bay street circuit this weekend, which hosts the Singapore Grand Prix.
