After the announcement of Kimi Räikkönen's retirement a few weeks ago, Alfa Romeo announced this morning the end of his collaboration with Antonio Giovinazzi at the end of this season. The Italian spent 3 seasons with the Swiss team, participating in 60 Grands Prix, with a 5th place in Brazil in 2019 as his best result. For the moment, we do not yet know which discipline the 27-year-old driver will turn to. But we know the name of his replacement, who will be Guanyu-Zhou. As a reminder, the Chinese driver will have as a teammate Valtteri Bottas.

“Saying goodbye to a driver is never easy, especially in the case of Antonio, who has been with the team for so long, declares Frédéric Vasseur. As we go our separate ways, we will cherish the memories of the good times and learn from the bad, knowing that those times made us all grow together as a team. We wish Antonio all the best for his future after the 2021 season: before that we still have three races to achieve good results together and finish the year strong.”
