Since 2022, each team has been required to have young drivers participate in several Free Practice sessions (one per car) on Friday mornings. To be considered a "young driver," the rookie must not have participated in more than two races in the World Championship. F1 during his career. New in 2025: teams must now have a rookie driver participate in four Free Practice 1 sessions (two per car) over the entire season, compared to two in 2024 (one per car).

No intention of Brille A Tort to run Paul Aron in Bahrain, just to give Jack Doohan confidence? Ah, I'm told in my earpiece that Doohan's car can no longer be used for rookie FP1s, but only Gasly's.
