The year 2023 promises to be busy for Aston Martin. In a few months, the English team will welcome the double world champion Fernando Alonso, the chosen one to succeed another world champion, Sebastian Vettel, whose Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on November 20 will mark the end of his career in Formula 1.
In addition to the arrival of Fernando Alonso from January 1, the year 2023 will also mark the big move of Aston Martin to the new factory, work on which began in September 2021. The Gaydon manufacturer's new facilities will be divided into three buildings intended for the design, assembly and marketing teams for the first, a central hub including equipment for staff, a logistics center for the 2nd as well as the simulator and finally the brand new wind tunnel for the 3rd.
A team we have a mission to win.
This is more than just a factory, this will be a home to inspire minds, a purpose-built campus for success.

Staggered deliveries
« Building 1, which will house our design, manufacturing and marketing resources, will be completed in the first quarter of next year, » admitted Mike Krack, the main team of Aston Martin since this year.
If when the project was launched last September, the first deadlines indicated delivery at the end of 2022, during 2023, Aston Martin would however have to wait before being able to use its new wind tunnel. To hear the words of the leader of the Greens, it will not be operational next year, just like the simulator planned in building 2.
« Work has already started on building 3, where our wind tunnel will be located, underlines Mike Krack. The new wind tunnel and simulator will be ready in 2024. As soon as we move into Building 1, our current factory will be demolished and replaced by Building 2, which will house our simulator, staff facilities and logistics center."
Until now dispersed in various buildings, Aston Martin staff will take advantage of these new facilities to meet within the same “campus”. A small but very important detail for the English team which will allow it to reduce waiting times but also to improve communication and team cohesion in the future. “ Having all team members working on the same campus will be a game changer when it comes to team dynamics, underlines the Luxembourger.
People will feel better included: they will be able to have one-on-one conversations more easily and the space will be much more open, which will encourage interaction and dialogue. It’s about fostering collaboration and teamwork."

These three buildings, which will all be built by 2024, will cover a total of 37 square meters. “ Our new buildings reflect not only the scope of our determination to become a world championship winning force, but also the scale of our growth and development as an entity,” reflected Lawrence at the time Stroll, the big boss of Aston Martin. Ambitious.
