Palmer announces end with Renault after Japanese GP

Jolyon Palmer will leave Renault Sport F1 Team after the Japanese GP. The Briton confirmed on his Instagram account that he would not return with the Losange for the end of the season.

Jolyon Palmer should therefore give way to Carlos Sainz Jr announced at Renault for the 2018 season, which would allow Daniil Kvyat to get back behind the wheel of his Toro Rosso after having had to give up his place to Pierre Gasly.

The resident of Red Bull Junior Team should therefore finish the 2017 season with the Faenza team by participating in the US GP in Austin on October 22. The reigning GP2 Series champion should therefore not challenge for the title in Super Formula where the final will be contested the same weekend at Suzuka.

Jolyon Palmer will start from the back of the grid at the Japanese GP after suffering a penalty of 20 places on the grid.
