Palmer: “I’m not thinking about next year.”

Jolyon Palmer's future at Renault seems very uncertain as the Briton struggles to exploit the potential of his RS 17. The 2014 GP2 Series champion is still seeking his first point in F1 while his teammate Nico Hulkenberg has already won 26 units this year.

“Honestly, I’m not even thinking about next year. I'm just focused on this season because we're only halfway through, explains Jolyon Palmer. There are still 9 races left to cover and I'm just looking to do my best in each one. »

“I am in the same situation as last year, adds Jolyon Palmer. I was there without thinking about what happened next, just looking to have good races. I succeeded and things took their course. I had a much better second half of the season and I clearly have to do the same this year. I know I can do it, especially by taking advantage of the car which is better now. »

Renault Sport F1 Team is reportedly in discussions with several drivers to replace Jolyon Palmer in 2018.
