No injuries for Fernando Alonso

This is reassuring news which was given by McLaren concerning the state of health of the Spaniard Fernando Alonso. The double world champion left the track this morning at the end of the session at the wheel of his MP4-30 powered by the Honda Power Unit. Transported to the circuit's medical center, the former driver Ferrari et Renault was immediately transferred by helicopter to the hospital to take additional exams.

McLaren had confirmed that its pilot was conscious and talking. The examinations carried out revealed no injuries, but the Iberian pilot, suffering from concussion, will spend the night in hospital, normal protocol in this type of situation. The Woking team also explained that it was putting an end to its program for this first visit to Catalonia without indicating for the moment the reasons for this accident.
