Pat Fry heading to McLaren exit?

Si McLaren seems to be finding some color this year, with a rather well-made MCL34, it undoubtedly owes this in part to the work of Pat Fry, director of engineering at the Woking team.

Having already worked in the British structure between the 90s and 2010, Fry then oriented his career towards Ferrari before officiating for Manor then returning to McLaren last September.

But it now seems active, like AUTOhebdo has learned, that the Briton will not continue his collaboration with the English entity where he was acting before the arrival of the new technical director James Key, who took office on March 27.

Fry could have remained with the Woking side in a different role but has apparently preferred to explore other options. When contacted, McLaren did not wish to confirm the information.

Some of our British colleagues are already bringing Fry closer to Williams, which has just made official the departure of Paddy Lowe in recent days.
