While F1 is considering modifying the technical regulations to obtain more impressive single-seaters from 2017, the technical director of Williams F1 Pat Symonds worries about lack of time to finalize new rules. The goal is to establish next year's regulations at the beginning of March.
“Will we produce a good car? I do not know. I feel a little under pressure”, admits Pat Symonds. “I think we're trying to move a little too quickly without having established the basic principles to work from. I would be happier if things were changed in 2018 rather than 2017. We could have a year to really research what is needed. But this message is certainly a bottle in the sea.”
