Patrick Head to Williams' rescue

Patrick Head is back in the world of Grands Prix within the team he co-founded with Sir Frank Williams in 1976.

As technical director and then director of engineering, the 72-year-old British engineer is one of Grove's historic figureheads and actively contributed to the nine Manufacturers' titles and seven Drivers' crowns amassed by Williams between 1980 and 1997.

Retired from the racing department in 2011, Patrick Head remained a shareholder in the English team and currently offers his expertise to the department in charge of Williams engineering as a short-term consultant. Williams confirmed this to official F1 website.

The announcement comes shortly after the " leave » by technical director Paddy Lowe, who temporarily left the stable, mentioning “ personal reasons », and while Williams is going through one of the worst crises in its history, marked by plummeting sporting performances and the loss of several sponsors.
