Paul di Resta with Force India

Present during the tests reserved for young drivers in Jerez in December, Paul di Resta will be the test driver and reserve driver for the Force India team this season.

The Scotsman will be present at all the Grands Prix and the team "is considering running him during free practice on Friday", now open to non-registered drivers.

In addition to this program F1, Paul di Resta will continue his competition program in DTM.

“I would like to thank Paul and JR Hildebrand who piloted our car during the Jerez tests,” comments Vijay Mallya during the presentation which took place in Glasgow. “They did a good job and were impressive during this test. We are proud to be able to count on a driver of Paul's caliber. His potential was evident during testing and he had the attitude to access F1. This program will allow him to discover the car, the team and the F1 environment. »

Paul di Resta added: “I'm so happy to finally have my chance in F1. It is an honor to debut in the discipline with Force India, a team with great potential. It's a new step towards my goal which is to find a steering wheel in racing. I know that I have a lot to learn and this program will allow me to fully prepare myself to claim a starting seat. I hope this is the start of a long collaboration with Force India. With the support of the team, I am convinced that we will grow together. »

On the occasion of this announcement, Force India also receives the support of a new partner: Whyte & Mackay.
