The post-race is definitely more lively than the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Penalized by 5 seconds for being incorrectly positioned on the starting grid in Jeddah, Fernando Alonso was also given an additional 10 seconds after the race.

The race officials considered that the first penalty had not been served correctly since the speed lifter had lifted the rear of theAston Martin of Alonso as he observed his 5-second immobilization during his pit stop.

Aston Martin exercised its right of review, which was granted, and won its case. To do this, the Silverstone team provided the stewards with new evidence.

The main piece of evidence is an extract from the minutes of the meeting of the “Sporting Advisory Committee” during which it was agreed that the action of raising a car with a speed lifter did not amount to work on the car.

The commissioners acknowledged that they were not aware of this regulatory clarification and therefore logically reversed their decision.

Fernando Alonso therefore finished 3rd in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, his 2nd podium in a row, his 100th career.

Once promoted to 3rd rank, George Russell (Mercedes) drops back to 4th place.

Here is the final ranking of the 2nd round of the world championship of Formula 1 2023.

“regulate this sport in a fair and transparent manner.” Good joke! If they really think they are capable of this, they will obviously have the same idea as me, the 5s penalty must be carried out AFTER the pit-stop, tires changed and the car placed on the ground, it remains immobilized for 5s before leaving.

This same press release ending with: “The subject will therefore be discussed at the next meeting of the Sports Advisory Committee on Thursday March 23, and a clarification will be published before the 2023 FIA Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix. An open approach to reassessing and improving the FIA's processes is part of its mission: to regulate the sport in a fair and transparent manner."

What you write is completely false, here is the press release: The press release said: "Having analyzed the new elements, we concluded that there was no clear agreement, contrary to what was previously suggested to the commissioners, which could be relied upon to determine that the parties had decided that the contact of a speed lifter with a car would constitute work on it. In this context, we considered that our initial decision "To impose a penalty on car 14 had to be reversed, and so we did."
