Penalties finally simplified with Power Units

The FIA ​​World Council has validated the proposals raised by the F1 Strategy Group regarding penalties regarding Power Units. The 2016 season calendar will feature 21 races.

Penalties finally simplified with Power Units

The FIA ​​World Council which was held this Friday July 10 in Mexico confirmed the simplification of penalties concerning the sanctions imposed on teams which exceed the quota of 4 engines per season. Penalties will be limited to positions on the grid and no longer also in races. Time and drive-through penalties will no longer be imposed in these cases.

McLaren-Honda will also benefit from an additional 5th Power Unit as a new engine manufacturer. This point of the regulations will remain applied for the following seasons.

The 2016 season schedule has also been confirmed with a program that has 21 races.
