Loss of points and heavy fine for Racing Point

The decision of the commissioners of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) was eagerly awaited by the Silverstone paddock (Great Britain). The supervisory body leaned in favor of Renault in the fight over the legality of the Racing Point RP20's brake ducts, copied from the Mercedes 2019.

The single-seaters of Sergio Pérez and Lance stroll lose 7,5 points, or a total of 15 units less in the Manufacturers' Championship. Conversely, the drivers do not lose any points in the Drivers' championship. This means that the race results are not changed.

In addition, Racing Point must pay a fine of 400 euros (000 per car). This decision only concerns the results of the Styrian Grand Prix, while the protests filed by Renault in Hungary as well as in England were only the subject of a reprimand.

The FIA also specifies that the design of the rear brake ducts can be retained for the rest of the season.
