Peter Sauber: “incredible result”

Peter Sauber does not hide his satisfaction at having seen one of his cars cross the finish line in the points. This had only happened once this season, at the Istanbul Grand Prix where the Japanese managed to grab the point for tenth place. This time, the Sauber driver managed to win six more, allowing him to move ahead of Vitaly Petrov in the Drivers' Championship. The Japanese delighted his team as well as the director.

He managed to be among the fastest drivers, while retaining his tires. He drove very well and was able to resist the pressure put on by Jenson Button. Signing with a rookie carries risks, but this Sunday, Kamui (Kobayashi) proved that we made the right choice ».

The director did not forget to point out that the work of the engineers also counted in this good result. “ This pace is only possible if the car and the driver are fast. The C29 has great potential, but the hardest part is applying it to all the Grands Prix. Just compare our qualifying performances and our race times ».

Sauber is still last of the teams in the points, but is now closing in on Toro Rosso. If the C29s confirm this good performance, the team can claim a better place than ninth. But Pedro de la Rosa has still not scored a single point this season.
