Small disappointment for Esteban Ocon

The first free practice session for the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona marked the start of a busy schedule for the Frenchman Esteban Ocon for the next few days. The reigning GP3 Series champion will also compete next week during the two days of testing organized after the Catalan event.

The former European champion F3 unfortunately had a tricky start, accumulating only six laps without setting a single time. “Unfortunately I had a puncture, which slowed me down because we only had two sets of tires in the session, explains Ocon at the microphone of Canal +.

Subsequently, we had a battery problem, and I had to go into the box. It took too long to repair, so the session was over, with no lap completed. There is a little bit of disappointment, but I will have a lot of time on Tuesday in the tests to ride, put on sets of tires, get used to the car and help the team. »

Ocon will begin testing at Renault Tuesday before taking over from Nico Rosberg at Mercedes the next day.
