Philippe Bianchi explains his legal action

On the occasion of the Monaco Grand Prix where Jules Bianchi won the first points for Marussia by finishing in ninth place in the 2014 edition, his father Philippe explained in issue n°2065 of AUTOhebdo on the reasons which motivated him to take legal action against the FIA, the FOM, the promoters of the Japanese GP and Manor-Marussia.

“Errors and shortcomings were made during this race (the 2014 Japanese Grand Prix, editor’s note). For better proof: the large number of modifications made in the wake of this tragedy so as not to have to relive it again. Bend redone, crane stationed outside, virtual safety car, next cockpit coverage, etc. And we, the family, cannot accept what was said and written to explain this accident. That the FIA investigation concluded with the fact that it was all Jules' fault is neither fair nor acceptable. This is why we decided to fight…”, commented Philippe Bianchi.

Jules Bianchi died on July 17, 2015, nine months after his accident at Suzuka where he left the track after being trapped by the rain.
