The 21 last July, Oscar piastri entered the history books of the Formula 1 by winning his first Grand Prix, in Hungary. A great feat which took on even more significance this Sunday: on his social networks, the Australian revealed that he had a fractured rib since July 7!
The 23-year-old driver published an x-ray dated July 8, where we see a broken rib, an injury which would therefore have occurred on the sidelines of the British Grand Prix. The reason for this injury is still unknown. “First part of the season finished. First GP victory. First broken bone. My side is enjoying the break », he jokes on his social networks.

This therefore means that Oscar Piastri competed in the Hungarian and Belgian Grand Prix with this injury... which did not disrupt his driving however, because the Melbourne native took a victory and a podium in his two races.
On excellent momentum before the summer break, with four Top 4s over the last four performances, Oscar Piastri will be a man to follow in this second part of the season... especially with his coast restored! The Australian has until August 23, the date of the resumption with the first Free Practice in Zandvoort, to recover from his injury.
