Imperial. This is the word that can most easily describe the weekend ofOscar piastri in China. Having secured his first pole position for a Grand Prix on Saturday, the Australian drove the 56 laps of this second round of the season. Never troubled, the No. 81 driver secured his third victory, following two successes in Hungary and Azerbaijan in 2024.
Only the Sprint slightly clouded the weekend's results. However, with a second-place finish in the event on Saturday morning, Piastri scored 32 championship points this weekend, enough to move him up to fourth. After making a mistake and finishing ninth in his home Grand Prix in Melbourne last week, a victory in China offers a small taste of redemption for the man hoping to launch an offensive towards the world title.
Oscar Piastri, winner of the Chinese GP: “I hope this kick-starts my campaign! It's been an incredible weekend from start to finish, the car was exceptional. We were surprised by how the tires performed today. I'm very proud of this weekend and I think I deserve it after last week. A one-two for the team is also a very good thing.”
It was still a bit tricky with the medium tyres, but much less so than yesterday, and the hard compound was much better than everyone expected. I was a bit surprised to be able to finish with this set, but it was a good surprise! I'm proud of the whole team and the work we did this weekend. Thanks to everyone for the support all weekend, well there were maybe a few too many fans of Lewis Hamilton But it doesn't matter, we'll convert them for next year! (laughs)"

1 all, ball in the center for the Papaye! Piastri shows that he too will be a contender for the title. Looking forward to Suzuka, hoping there will finally be some spectacle on this justice of peace
