Author of another great performance, two weeks after his podium in Baku, Pierre Gasly will start from 6th position tomorrow during the French Grand Prix. Obviously when broaching the subject with the media, the Frenchman was a happy man.

“It’s a really good day, I’m really happy to qualify sixth, says Pierre Gasly. So far, the weekend hasn't been easy. The car wasn't super comfortable and I struggled with the changing conditions. We tested different settings on the car over the weekend and the performance came in for qualifying.”

And yet his Q3 was not easy. Although he had a very good first run, his lap was canceled for not having respected the track limits at turn 6.

“I had a one-shot in Q3 since my first lap was canceled, explains the Alpha Tauri driver. The adrenaline was high and I was able to do a good lap, so I'm super happy on that level. Tomorrow will be interesting because it's a normal circuit and we have the same tires as the other drivers around us. Strategy will be key so it’s important. We are going to give our best and hope to get big points here in front of my home crowd.”

The French driver once again outperformed his teammate Yuki tsunoda. The Japanese crashed during Q1 at the first corner and will start in last position tomorrow. A situation which risks weighing heavily as the Seally Season approaches.
