This is a scenario to which Pierre Gasly most likely didn't expect. Still delicate with theAlpine A523, the Norman experienced very complicated first qualifications in Blue. Never in the game, Gasly crossed the line in 19e position synonymous with elimination in Q1. He also saw his time deleted for non-compliance with track limits.

Deprived of time and sent to last place on the grid, the Habs are set for a somewhat difficult Sunday. “ We're going to have to work, he admitted disillusioned at the microphone of Canal +. We felt good all weekend. We worked to try to have more front end because I had a lot of understeer during all the free practice sessions.

In the end, it was completely the opposite. In qualifying, I was sliding everywhere. For the moment I don't have too many answers. It was very different from what we expected. We actually made adjustments during FP3 to go in this direction but it was much more complicated than expected."

Despite this disillusionment in qualifying, Pierre Gasly is not lowering his head. As he brings up the rear on the grid this Sunday, the Frenchman says to himself “ confident » for the race. “ On the long relays it was good so we will concentrate on tomorrow (Sunday) to go up »

Here's hoping the plan works better this time.
