Pierre Gasly leaves with Toro Rosso and Daniil Kvyat in 2020

Demoted from Red Bull à Toro Rosso in the heart of a particularly painful summer, Pierre Gasly was able to bounce back brilliantly during the following seven races, marked in particular by four finishes in the points and a regular presence in Q3. 

If the Norman was officially in the running for a return to the Milton Keynes side, his rooting in Faenza, where he visibly feels better, was always a more likely option. It's now official: Gasly is back with the junior team in the bullfighting sector for what will be his third full campaign under the colors of Toro Rosso, with whom he started in F1 during the 2017 Malaysian Grand Prix.

At his side, Gasly will find a familiar face since it is Daniil Kvyat, also demoted from Red Bull to Toro Rosso at the start of 2016. After a period of doubts and a year on the sidelines in the simulator Ferrari, the Russian made a convincing return as a starter in 2019, notably achieving a nice podium in Germany last summer.

The confirmations of Gasly and Kvyat at Toro Rosso, and Alex Albon's contract extension with Red Bull Racing, only leave one place free on the 2020 grid, the second seat Williams. In theory because the deal with the reservist Nicholas latifi is already closed.
