What's the problem this season for Pierre Gasly ?

Three entries in the points with a 4th place in Baku (June 12) for best result, such is Pierre Gasly's meager record at mid-season. Last year, it was already in Azerbaijan that he shone, except that he was on the podium (3rd) and the Top 10 had welcomed him seven other times. 11 points this year, compared to 50 at the end of the 11th round of 2021, the difference is significant and is explained firstly by a car 2022 significantly less accomplished than its predecessor, the AT03 suffering from a lack of aero efficiency compared to its rivals. “ Need to find more load from the floor and reduce drag, affirmed the Frenchman in Imola (April 22-24), scene of the 5th round of the championship. At the moment the front end is not as strong as I would like. Especially in mid and low speed corners where I struggle to turn it. Then it's just pure gliding. In high speed corners we just slide on all four wheels and can't carry as much speed as the others. This is an area we need to improve. I think mechanically the car seems to be pretty good. We can always find better solutions but, for now, we just need more charging ».
