Pirelli concludes its tests at Paul-Ricard

285 laps completed Monday, 374 today, Pirelli was able to gather a lot of valuable information at the end of the two days of rain tire testing organized on the Paul-Ricard track in Var.

After Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari), Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull) and Stoffel Vandoorne (McLaren) yesterday, the Belgian accompanied on the track Sebastian Vettel for Scuderia, and Daniil Kvyat for Red Bull, were in action in the South of France, to test the transalpine prototypes on the circuit soaked by the watering system.

The 2015 version single-seaters were able to cover more than 2300 km over the two sessions, with an honorary best time established in 1'06"750 by Vettel on Tuesday.

It is now towards Barcelona and Catalonia that the paddock F1 will head off in less than a month, for the first session of pre-season testing, scheduled for Montmelo from February 22 to 25. The teams will mostly run their 2016 cars there, apart from Sauber, which has already confirmed the absence of its C35 during these first runs.

Pirelli test times:

1. Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari): 1.06″750 (134 laps)
2. Daniil Kvyat (Red Bull): 1.06″833 (113)
3. Stoffel Vandoorne (McLaren): 1.07″758 (87 + 127)
4. Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull): 1.08″713 (99)
5. Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari): 1.09″637 (99)
