Pirelli corrects the situation for the Brazilian GP

Pirelli has reversed its choice of tires for the Brazilian Grand Prix at Interlagos on November 9. While the supplier of the F1 had announced that it was going to bring its hardest tires to Sao Paulo, the Italian manufacturer reversed its decision by offering medium and soft tires. This reaction follows criticism formulated in particular by Felipe Massa who feared complications following the track resurfacing which should offer a less aggressive route with the tires.

?We have always said we are open to changes if they prove necessary. After the technical analysis of the impact that the new asphalt would have on the rubber, the low probability that the rubber would degrade due to the extreme heat convinced us to propose this alternative which was accepted, unanimously, by the 11 teams entered in F1 », explained Paul Hembery, Pirelli sporting director.
