Pirelli requests short stints for Indian GP

This sounds like an admission from Pirelli. The manufacturer of the discipline asked the teams not to extend the drivers' stints for too long with the two types of rubber, stipulating a limit of 15 laps for the soft tires and 35 laps for the medium rubbers. The supplier of the F1 used to take harder tires for this event and the tests quickly revealed a problem of bubbling and rapid wear on the yellow sidewall rubbers.

This recommendation may add a problem to teams that have established different strategies for the race. Several drivers such as Mark Webber or Fernando Alonso have chosen to start on medium tires to try to gain an advantage at the start of the race over their opponents who will quickly have to go through the pits to switch to medium tires.
