Pirelli reveals compounds for final seven Grand Prix

After the final part of the calendar was made official, Pirelli announced the compounds that will be used for the last seven Grand Prix of the 2020 season.

« As usual, the selection was made taking into account a wide range of factors including the configuration of the circuit, the likely climatic conditions and the characteristics of the asphalt of the route », underlines Mario Isola, director of Pirelli in F1.

In Germany, drivers will have a total of 13 sets of tires (2 hard, 3 medium and 8 soft). A " standard distribution » which the teams will also meet during the two meetings in Bahrain and Abu Dhabi at the end of the current campaign.

In Portugal and Turkey, “ taking into account the circuit requirements ", the distribution of tires will be three hard sets, three mediums and seven softs. “ As a result, drivers will have an additional set of hards to try during free practice and will be able to keep two sets of hards for the race if necessary. ».

Finally, at Imola, only ten sets of tires will be made available to the teams: two hard, two medium and six soft. Pirelli made this choice because the planned weekend in San Marino (October 31-November 1) will take place over two days only (Saturday and Sunday).
