By winning the Hungarian Grand Prix, Esteban Ocon added his name to the list of thirteen French victors in the premier category. Despite the many obstacles encountered on the road that led him to F1, the Norman never stopped believing in himself.

If we had to personify resilience and unwavering faith, Esteban Ocon would make a serious candidate. Since his first tours in karting in his parents' garden in Evreux (27), in the heart of Normandy which is definitely a provider of champions, the tall boy of 1,86 m was never offered anything. Esteban does not blame us, but nothing led us to imagine, in his tender childhood, that he could one day arrive in Formula 1. It's not a legend, the path leading to the premier category is particularly steep. For him, it even amounted to the Stations of the Cross. The Norman was in fact not born with a silver spoon in his mouth. When he was born, his parents ran a car garage just near Evreux. They earned a modest living, but did not hesitate for a single second to help their son when he fell in love with karting at the age of four and a half, certainly influenced by a dad who was a mechanic and keen on motorsport.
