Putin confirms Russian GP in Sochi

France should hurry to find a good reception place so that the F1 returns to France. Because, after Abu Dhabi, South Korea, India and the United States, it is now Russia which is included in the F1 calendar. For several months, an agreement in this direction seemed more and more imminent. It is now done, for seven years, from 2014, in Sochi (Sochi).

« We have reached an agreement with the main promoter of Formula 1 for Sochi to host the Russian Grand Prix from 2014 to 2020 Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin told Reuters. Sochi, a city bordering the Black Sea, will also host the Winter Olympic Games? in 2014.

After the arrival of the first Russian driver, Vitaly Petrov, in F1, Vladimir Putin's country seems to be slowly but surely turning towards the discipline. The gradual arrival of sponsors in the team Renault and the growing audiences for F1 in Russia allow the promoters of the Sochi race to be very optimistic.
