Presentation of the 138 Ferrari F2013

Scuderia Ferrari confirms that the F138 is an evolution of the previous generation, the stability of the technical regulations having required Maranello to restructure its staff into two groups: the first focused on the F138 while the second prepares for the 2014 season where the 6l turbo V1.6 engines will replace the V8s. However, the Italian team ensures that each part has been reworked in order to optimize performance while maintaining the same level of reliability as last year.

The F138 retains the same tie rod suspensions at the front and rear but have still been reworked with a view to optimizing aerodynamics, particularly at the rear. The exhausts have also been revised to simplify position changes. The pontoons have been redesigned, always in the search for better aerodynamics. The back of the car has been refined, mainly in its lower part. The front and rear wings are, however, similar to those used last year. On the other hand, the DRS of the single-seater has been revised following the change in regulations which authorizes its use only in reserved areas. The front and rear brakes have also been modified. The SREC remains placed in the center of the car for safety reasons.
