Prodrive waits until the last minute

Prodrive had already acquired its place on the starting grids in April 2006 with the objective of competing in 2008. An agreement with McLaren and a reform of the Concorde Agreements should allow the British team to start in F1. But the failure of the reform and the break with McLaren caused the project to sink.

Since then David Richards has been looking for a new entry point. The 2010 regulations voted by the World Council could be the royal road that DR is waiting for. But the Briton does not want to embark on the adventure without guarantees: “We still need answers. Will we be capable of good sporting performances with these new regulations and is there a reliable business model in these conditions? »

A meeting bringing together Prodrive and Aston Martin ? two entities led by David Richards? as well as investors from the Gulf should meet before Friday May 29, the closing date for commitments in order to make a decision.
