Prodrive is committed

David Richards will make his return to the paddocks. After managing Benetton and BAR in the 90s and 2000s, the boss of Prodrive will take the helm of an eponymous team before it is renamed Aston Martin in 2012. If it is selected by the FIA to participate in the championship, the team could thus be helped by Mercedes who would supply him with the engines. Furthermore, the single-seaters would be assembled at Banbury, the Prodrive factory in England. It also seems that the team is supported by two major partners from the Middle East. The first would be Investment Dar, which owns a majority share in Aston Martin and another powerful but unknown group.

« We appreciate the support we received and not only from the FIA and FOM for our arrival " Richards said. “ The budget cap has increased from what it was when we decided to commit. However, everyone seems committed to drastic cost reductions in the coming years », he continued to justify his commitment before displaying his ambitions. “ As we have already said, we do not want to be in Formula 1 to make up the figure. »
