In November 2020, the return of Imola (Italy) to the calendar of the Formula 1 was accompanied by a shortened two-day program. Almost six months later, it is because of British royal news that Formula 1 is adapting its schedule.
Indeed, the sessions on Saturday April 17 of the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix will all be brought forward by one hour, in order to avoid overlapping with the funeral of Prince Philip, who died on April 9 at the age of 99 .
So, the third free practice session will take place between 11 a.m. and noon, while the qualifications will take place between 14 p.m. and 15 p.m.. Free Practice 1 and 2 on Friday are also postponed by 30 minutes (11 a.m. and 14:30 p.m.). The Grand Prix will always start at 15 p.m. the next day.
