Prost puzzled over Red Bull-Renault pursuit

Following the failure of negotiations with Mercedes et Ferrari, Red Bull seems to want to backtrack and extend his contract with Renault in view of the latest statements from Team Principal Christian Horner. But the Austrian team has frequently criticized the engine manufacturer of Viruses-Châtillon since the establishment of the Power Units, deteriorating relations between the two structures.

« There was a lot of damage and I don't know if it can be repaired », told Alain Prost, Renault ambassador, on Canal+. "The fact is that Dietrich Mateschitz (the director of Red Bull) announced that he did not want to continue with Renault and Carlos Ghosn (the CEO of Renault-Nissan) said that Renault will not stay in F1 as a simple engine builder. From there, I don't really see how the situation could develop favorably. »

Renault signed a letter of intent last month confirming its interest in taking over Lotus F1 Team.
