Tough qualifying for Mercedes

During the eighteenth qualifying session of the year, the team Mercedes was unable to find the necessary resources to climb onto one of the first two lines of the starting grid. If Hamilton qualified in fifth position with its new chassis, his teammate Rosberg completely missed his session. “I had a big problem getting my tires up to temperature, laments the German. It's very disappointing not to have been able to progress to Q3. We had to find the right compromise in these delicate conditions. Hard tires on a very ?soft? created big surprises. Tomorrow it should be warmer but it?s not ideal to go far away. We have good race pace so the car should perform well. We are going to overtake a lot of people and score big points. »

For Lewis Hamilton the situation is not catastrophic but the 2008 world champion hoped to do better. “I’m here to fight up front. It was a difficult session so I'm happy with my fifth place. The car was fast but we couldn't get the tires to work well. I hope we have good setups for tomorrow, it should be warmer and I'm off to a good start so I'll try to get a good start. »
