What is behind the 1 Ferrari F2010?

At first glance, the car is more aggressive according to the drawing by Giorgio Piola published by Gazzetta dello Sport.

The general balance is close to that of the Red Bull RB5, still cited as an example last season, with a higher cockpit and a more assertive snout, “broken” like the Red Bull. The design of the diffuser (with triple central channel) would also be very close to that of the RB5 with suspension arms slightly pulled forward to promote air flow.

In accordance with 2010 regulations, the fuel tank increases from 120 to 240 liters and moves the rear axle back by 15 centimeters. The oil tank is moved. In front of the engine in 2009, it goes behind for this new version as was the case with Stewart or Arrows in the past. The radiators are elongated to compensate for the space taken up in width by the fuel tank.

Aerodynamically, the front receives numerous developments. With the adoption of narrower front tires, the flow of air between the nose and the wheels required many hours of work. The front wing is completely revised and is accompanied by new “appendages” around the nose.

To be validated during the presentation on January 28!
