What future for HRT?

HRT had barely talked about it since the start of the offseason. Since the start of 2011, Jose Ramon Carabantes' team has been in the news. It was Narain Karthikeyan who lit the first fuse by revealing his agreement with HRT for the 2011 season. The Indian driver will succeed his compatriot Karun Chandhok, who refused an offer from HRT to target a more competitive team, perhaps in quality of third pilot.

At present, the identity of the second pilot is not known. HRT speaks with four to five candidates. Bruno Senna will not be back behind the wheel after Colin Kolles revealed that the nephew of three-time World Champion Ayrton Senna will no longer drive for HRT in 2011.

Unlike the 2010 season, HRT will no longer work with Dallara. The car that will succeed the F110 is currently under development. “The monocoque is ready, the gearbox (Williams), the engine (Cosworth) and hydraulics are in place and the aerodynamic package is ready to be completed,” team principal Colin Kolles told Reuters.

This new car should not appear at the beginning of February unlike many teams. “We may have the news for the last two test sessions,” revealed Colin Kolles. Compared to 2010, HRT will therefore be ahead since the F110 ran for the first time during testing for the Bahrain Grand Prix, the first race of the year.
