A few hours before the start of the Las Vegas Grand Prix (7:00 am Sunday) and after having collected all the possible data since the start of the weekend, Pirelli has revealed the strategies that the teams will be able to use under the lights of the city of sin.

One of the pieces of information concerns the hard tyres. All the drivers on the grid have kept at least two new sets for this 50-lap race. This does not mean that all of them plan to make two stops during the Grand Prix.

According to the first information that Pirelli has sent, the grid could/should give priority to a one-stop strategy. For this scenario, the Italian manufacturer proposes two scenarios: the first with a start on mediums for a single stop between the 14th and 20th laps, the second a start on hards to dive into the pit lane between the 28th and 34th laps.

Last year, this strategy could not be implemented since the appearance of the Safety Car on the 26th lap forced all the drivers to stop a second time.

Regarding the second strategy, Pirelli obviously proposes a two-stop plan, again with two scenarios: the first with a start on mediums before switching to hards twice, first between laps 8 and 14 and then between laps 26 and 32. The second is an alternative with the use of the softest rubber before two stints on hards.

Barring any surprises, the majority of the grid should bet on a start on mediums before moving on to hards. Those who have to move up should do the opposite.
