Which drivers have set the most fast laps in Grand Prix this season?

24 Grands Prix. 24 fast laps. It's time to take stock as the 2024 season came to a close last weekend in Abu Dhabi. This year, no fewer than 12 drivers managed to finish Sunday with the fastest time in their pocket. A performance that since 2019 offered an additional unit if the author took the checkered flag in the Top 10. However, this will no longer be the case from 2025., after in particular the “controversy” with Daniel Ricciardo et Red Bull in Singapore.
In this exercise, it is Lando Norris who proved to be the most efficient with 6 fast laps in the year (Spain, Netherlands, Italy, Azerbaijan, Las Vegas and Qatar). Thus, the Englishman succeeds in the prize list to Max Verstappen, who had won this distinction the last two campaigns. In 2024, the Dutchman managed to set the fastest lap three times in the race (Bahrain, Japan and Brazil).
Not retained by Haas after three seasons, Kevin Magnussen was given the opportunity by his team to finish on a high note, with the Dane setting the fastest lap of his final Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi.

With the possibility of putting on soft tyres at the end of the race on a car with a practically empty tank, the fastest lap no longer has much meaning today. The proof is that it has sometimes gone to cars that are far from the pace of the best in qualifying.

McLaren 7, Ferrari 4, Red Bull 4 and Mercedes 4, or 19 best laps out of 24 Grand Prix, we therefore find the 4 best teams of the 2024 season. Aston Martin, Alpine, Haas and Ridicilous Bulls also scored... leaving Williams and Saubersteakick to "do fanny"!
