Drivers who have won several Grand Prix in one season: 7
This is the main record that we will remember from this 2024 season: in total, seven drivers have won at least two Grands Prix this year! Max Verstappen (9 victories), Lando Norris (4) Charles Leclerc (3) Lewis Hamilton (2), George Russell (2), Oscar piastri (2) et Carlos Sainz (2) have each been multiple Grand Prix winners in 2024. The previous record was set in 1981, when six drivers also won at least two Grands Prix, with then-champion Nelson Piquet (3 wins), Alain Prost (3), Carlos Reutemann (3), Gilles Villeneuve (2), Jacques Laffite (2) and Alan Jones (2). On the other hand, the number of different winners in a season (11, in 1982) is still a long way off.
Grand Prix without a best lap: Lance Stroll, 166
As you can imagine, it is not necessarily for good reasons that the pilot Aston Martin wrote the history of the Formula 1, but the Canadian can still boast of holding a record. Indeed, Lance stroll is now the driver who has competed in the most Grands Prix… without ever setting a fastest lap in a race! The #18 has competed in 166 Grands Prix without setting a fastest lap, erasing Johnny Herbert's previous record (161 Grands Prix without a fastest lap) from the records. Despite three podiums and a pole position in his career, the 26-year-old driver has never managed to set the fastest time in a race since his debut in Formula 1 in 2017.
Single circuit victories: Lewis Hamilton at Silverstone, 9
Lewis Hamilton broke new records in Formula 1 with his victory at the British Grand Prix last July. By winning for the ninth time at Silverstone, the Briton broke the record for most wins on a single circuit! The previous record was jointly held by Michael Schumacher (8 victories in the French GP at Magny-Cours) and… Lewis Hamilton (8 victories in the Hungarian GP at the Hungaroring). Lewis Hamilton also won the British Grand Prix for the ninth time, which is also a new record for victories in a single event.
Gap between first and last win: Lewis Hamilton, 17 years and 27 days
In addition to the record for victories in F1 and on a single circuit, Lewis Hamilton also broke the record for the duration between the first and last victory in Formula 1: between the 2007 Canadian Grand Prix and the 2024 British Grand Prix, 17 years and 27 days passed... and 338 Grands Prix!
Seasons with at least one win: Lewis Hamilton, 16
Among the other records broken by Lewis Hamilton with his victory at Silverstone, that of the number of seasons spent with at least one victory. By winning in England, the Briton won at least one race in 16 different years, thus breaking the record he co-held with Michael Schumacher. It should also be noted that no driver had ever won a Grand Prix beyond his 300 Grands Prix: the driver Mercedes did so in his 344th F1 Grand Prix.
Retired after one season: McLaren, 0
The team of Woking achieved a historic feat in 2024, by not registering (officially) any retirements during this golden campaign, crowned with a Constructors' title! This is the first time that a Formula 1 team has classified its two cars in all the Grands Prix of the season, an even more resounding feat when you consider that the 2024 championship was the longest in history with 24 Grands Prix on the calendar. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri were classified in each of the races contested (excluding Sprint) this year. Note: we specify "classified", because although Lando Norris did not finish the Austrian Grand Prix after his collision with Max Verstappen at the end of the race, the Briton was still classified 7 laps behind, since he had completed more than 90% of the race when he returned to his garage. Which does not count, officially at least, as a retirement!
Laps covered in a season: Oscar Piastri, 1
For his part, Oscar Piastri also achieved a great feat in 2024, as he became the fourth driver in history to complete all the laps this season. The Australian has never given up and has never taken a lap behind the leader this year… although it was not far in Abu Dhabi, as he was the last classified in the lap of Lando Norris, winner of the final round! With this score of 100% of laps completed, the Melbourne native joins Michael Schumacher (2002), Lewis Hamilton (2019) and Max Verstappen (2023) in this incredible list of achievements. With 24 Grands Prix on the calendar in 2024, Oscar Piastri is therefore – with 1444 laps completed – the driver to have completed the most laps in a Formula 1 season.
Years gap between two Constructors' titles: McLaren, 26
In 2024, McLaren had the opportunity to celebrate a title by winning the Constructors' title for the first time since 1998. 26 years between two Constructors' titles, this is a new record in the history of Formula 1. Before this ninth title for McLaren, the team that had waited the longest between two titles was Ferrari, which had experienced a 16-year period of famine between 1983 and 1999.
Grand Prix contested in F1: Fernando Alonso, 401
Sure, there were victory records, but there were also longevity records in 2024 since Fernando Alonso, who competed in his 21st full season (!), became the first driver to reach the milestone of 400 Grands Prix in Formula 1! The Spaniard started his 400th Grand Prix in Qatar at the end of November. However, the double world champion has still not found the way to victory: his last success dates back to the 2013 Spanish Grand Prix, that was more than 11 years ago… and 200 Grands Prix!
Grand Prix in one season: 24
Even though we specified it above, but this 2024 season was also historic due to its length since there were, as expected, 24 Grands Prix contested this season, a record. A calendar busier than ever since the previous record was 22 Grands Prix (2021, 2022, 2023) and could still be filled with new stages in the years to come...

The record for the number of drivers who have won several Grand Prix in one season is a good illustration of a competitive season and we hope that 2025 will be in line with this. It's surprising to see that the only permanent contract holder on the grid still holds a record!!! What about Gasly's record, who didn't break anything in 2024, especially in the longest season in history?
