A page is turning for Racing Bulls and Faenza. After more than ten years spent with the little sister of Red Bull, Jody Egginton, the team's technical director, has decided to start a new chapter in his career. A departure that comes just a few days before the first Grand Prix of the season in Australia (March 14-16).

« Being part of this team for more than 10 years has been a fantastic experience for me, which has allowed me to live memorable moments, remembers the English engineer. But after spending nearly 20 years focusing solely on the Formula 1, I think it's time for a change »

A change that will take place from the first of April. Indeed, Jody Egginton will remain in the galaxy of the energy drink since he will bounce back as director of engineering on the side of Red Bull Advanced Technologies. This is a branch of the manufacturer involved in non-F1 projects. One of the best known is that of the AM-RB 001 which ended up seeing the light of day under the name ofAston Martin Valkyrie More recently, it is the RB17, the Red Bull Hypercar designed by Adrian Newey, which was brought to life.

« I will have great responsibilities as Director of Engineering at Red Bull Advanced Technologies and the company currently has a list of exciting projects, so I am looking forward to this new challenge.,” adds Jody Egginton.

What restructuring for Racing Bulls?

He began his motorsport career in 1996 in design at Tyrrell. After a few years outside of F1, he found a job at Midland, which became Spyker and Force India (now Aston Martin). He also worked for Lotus before joining Faenza in 2014 as head of vehicle performance. In 2017, he was appointed deputy technical director before becoming its principal in 2019.

Racing Bulls do not intend to replace Jody Egginton with a single person. His role will be filled by chief technical director Tim Goss, arrived in the stable at the beginning of 2024 as technical manager, and assistants Guillaume Cattelani (performance) and Andrea Landi (design).

He therefore replaces his compatriot Newey at the head of Red Bull Advanced Technologies and is not replaced at Ridiculous Bulls. The Red Bull galaxy therefore takes advantage of this to make a nice saving on its payroll!
