Raffaele Marciello Sauber test and reserve driver

For the 2015 campaign, the team Clean has just confirmed its new test and reserve pilot, the Italian Raffaele Marciello. Aged 20, the resident of the Ferrari Driver Academy evolved this year in GP2Series on behalf of the team Racing Engineering, with a victory at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium and three other podiums. He also won the F3 European Championship in 2013 with Prema Powerteam, which took Esteban Ocon at the same coronation this year.

“I am really happy to become a member of Sauber F1 Team, which has a long tradition of developing excellent drivers, explains Marciello. I really think it's the best choice for my career. » Marciello will also regain his seat in GP2. “I'm also happy to be playing one more season in this series, which, along with my new role in F1, will give me a very busy 2015 season. I would like to thank the Ferrari Driver Academy for giving me this important opportunity. »

Sauber had already confirmed the Swede Marcus Ericsson et Brazilian Felipe Nasr as regular pilots replacing the Mexican Esteban Gutiérrez and German Adrian Sutil. If Gutiérrez found refuge within Scuderia Ferrari as a reservist, Sutil does not yet know what his future will hold.
