Räikkönen expects “a normal race”

Kimi Räikkönen has had several bad lucks since the start of the season, but the Finn has secured the points each time. After his start from the back of the grid transformed into seventh place in Melbourne, the 2007 world champion was this time given a five-place penalty following a gearbox change during free practice at Sepang. He finished the event with a satisfactory fifth place, but stressed that the hierarchy remains difficult to establish at the end of a race disrupted by rain and a red flag.

The Lotus driver would now like to compete in a normal event without having disruptive elements preventing him from establishing the forces present and at the same time showing what his true level is. “I hope we will have a normal race next time”, comments Iceman. “There is always something going wrong, or it is time that is constantly changing. It would be nice to have a normal weekend to know our true position. At the moment, no one really knows where each team stands, but we still seem to have a competitive package. »
